Successful M100 event

On Friday 2nd October 2009 a team from Clearview Traffic held a demonstration event in conjunction with Capita Symonds and  Blackburn With Darwen Council of the M100 Wireless Vehicle Detection System.

The event, with over 20 Traffic Management professionals from around the country showed how the M100 system can be used to help smooth traffic flows.  This included a live demonstration of the solution at the Buncer Lane site in Blackburn.

Blackburn with Darwen borough council have worked in partnership with Capita Symonds to upgrade three major intersections to MOVA and wanted to look at minimising some of the issues with the traditional vehicle detection that they been experiencing. The decision was taken to totally upgrade these junctions using Golden River Traffic M100 magnetometer vehicle detection equipment interfacing with new signalling infrastructure installed by Peek Traffic Limited along with their Chameleon MOVA controllers.

Ian Richardson, Capita Symonds' Director commented on the benefits in terms of installation costs and ongoing efficiency: "By implementing the M100 wireless vehicle detection system at three major sites we have reduced installation costs by £60,000 and will continue to create efficiency savings through reduced replacement and maintenance costs.”

Mark Chermisde the local Clearview Traffic Sales representative commented "it's great to show a working system to customers and to be able to answer their questions about this new innovative technology. We would like to thank Chris Pearson and Donna Neeley at Capita Symonds for their help in pulling such a great event together."
