Environmental Update

Clearview Traffic are pleased to announce our recent update of figures demonstrating the groups commitment to the environment. We are currently working to reduce our environmental impact in a number of key business areas.

Clearview Traffic is has reduced its Head Office Carbon Footprint by a massive 19% in the last year. This reduction from 276 CO2 tonnes to 223 CO2 tonnes has come about through a variety of initiatives including:

Fuel reduction:

  • A new IT system allows our site engineers to be based from home throughout the UK. This removes the need for operatives to visit the office for their workload, spare parts etc.
  • Upgrading our fleet of vehicles from petrol to diesel powered vehicles has also contributed significantly to the reduction.

Energy usage:

We have worked with the carbon trust to work on a number of schemes that has helped to reduce our energy usage, including:

  • Reducing the amount of fluorescent tubing used to light the building.
  • Making employees aware of the need to turn off equipment after it is used.
  • Implementing an active audit system to identify areas of the business where equipment could be turned off during out of hours / off peak times.

Recycling:

Clearview Traffic Group has signed up to a battery and accumulators supplier, this company collects any batteries supplied to customers once they have come to the end of their life. Please contact 01869 – 362809 for further details regarding disposal.

Clearview Traffic Group continue to take back products supplied at the end of their life time, complying with the Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment regulations (WEEE). Products with the crossed out wheelie bin sign fall under this scheme.

Products:

Clearview Traffic continues to provide its customers with solar powered solutions to reduce the amount spent on electricity to reduce carbon emissions for local authorities and road managers where our street furniture is installed. Please see sample case studies on the M25 / Bucks County Council as prime examples of our Astucia studs reducing councils carbon footprints.
