A team of cyclists from Clearview Traffic have raised over £1,000 for Sport Relief in a sponsored cycle challenge from the company headquarters in Bicester to Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge.
The ride of around 80 miles was made on parts of the Sustrans UK cycle route and finished on a part of the Cambridge cycle path which is delineated by an installation of Astucia SolarLite road studs.
Astucia as a part of the Clearview Traffic Group, provides road studs which reduce night time accidents on roads by over 70%. The studs are also used on cycle paths to increase visibility whilst providing a sustainable solution, being powered by totally free solar energy. Installations of the studs can be found on cycle paths worldwide including in Sweden and Australia.
The team of cyclists completed the course in under 9 hours and have raised over £1,000 for Sport Relief. This was a fantastic achievement as many of the team are usually recreational cyclists and 80 “hilly” miles presented a great challenge.
Andrew Burton, Commercial Director commented “We had a fun but exhausting day, and we are all pleased to have raised funds for Sport Relief who do sterling work to transform the lives of poor and vulnerable people, both at home and across the world’s poorest countries.”
